Museum piece

We have an old TV. Even though it is 26 years old, it still works, and my wife and I are very cheap. It also looks good in our living room.
However, my wife came home from an out of town visit and said, "Mike, we need to get a new TV. I saw a TV just like ours in a museum!"

Deep sigh, "OK", I say. I guess it's about time.

We decide that if we are going to buy one,we would get the latest and greatest "Smart" TV. So I look around the electronics stores. I see one on display at Best Buy for about $600 dollars that is just the size we want. I returned to the store with Cindy and show it to her.
"Great idea," she agrees.
I find a salesman, point to the TV and say, "I want that TV."  Now that is a man's way to shop, I think to myself.
"Great," says the salesman. He then checks for availability and starts showing us how this SONY Google Smart TV works. He even shows us a bigger one. Then he starts to show us another, more expensive, brand.
"Hold on a minute," we object, " we wanted that one."
"Oh, sorry, we don't have it in stock. If you really want this TV, you'll have to order it on-line."
Target had the same TV on display. I find a salesman and say, "I want that TV." Yes, I'm still shopping like a man.  "Sorry, we don't have that model in stock"

So much for shopping like a man.

OK, we'll look online. It turns out they are not making that TV anymore.

OK, we'll start asking questions.
We finally get a 40' dumb TV and a "Smart" Blue ray disc player that makes a dumb TV a smart TV.
Works just fine.

21st century

I have decided to take another step into the twenty-first century by starting my own blog.
More to come.
